Am I a good candidate for chiropractic treatment?2023-11-06T13:39:40+00:00

Chiropractic care is a safe, effective treatment option for most people. During your first visit, your chiropractor will perform a thorough examination, order X-rays or other diagnostic tests, and discuss your medical history and symptoms before recommending a treatment plan. Although medication can temporarily dull your pain, your symptoms will return unless you address the cause. Chiropractic treatment treats the source of your pain, eliminating or reducing the need for pain killers or other medications. It’s a good choice if you’re experiencing sudden or chronic pain or have other symptoms, such as:

  • Pain that affects any part of your body or shoots down your arms or legs
  • Joint pain
  • Muscle pain, weakness, tingling or numbness
  • Difficulty walking, maintaining your balance, or sitting or standing without pain
  • Frequent headaches, fatigue or difficulty concentrating due to your symptoms

Chiropractic treatment can help relieve your symptoms naturally. Contact us if you’re ready to schedule an appointment.

Your chiropractor will begin by asking you some pertinent questions and listening attentively to what you have to say. You may be familiar with some of the tests if you have already consulted your GP or a consultant. Some will be unique to chiropractic. Droitwich Back & Neck Clinic use state-of-the-art thermographic and digital equipment to assess tension and range of motion in the spine and extremity joints. What if treatment doesn’t help?2025-04-14T12:40:59+01:00

In a minority of cases patients don’t respond to chiropractic care. In those cases, the chiropractor will help the patient find a suitable alternative and/or refer them back to their GP. Can’t I just click my own back?2025-04-14T12:42:46+01:00

People often speak about ‘clicking’ their own back as a replacement for adjustments carried out by a qualified and trained chiropractor. This is not the case. When someone ‘clicks’ their own back they are usually moving the spinal levels above and below the one that is actually restricted. Frequently when one level becomes tight the ones above and below become very loose to compensate. This is why ‘self-clicking’ gives a pleasing feeling for about twenty minutes, but then feels exactly the same; it hasn’t actually done anything to the restricted joint.
